Practice makes… The best chocolate cakes!

Now I don’t mean to brag… But I truly believe I have mastered my ultimate favourite, all-round pleaser.. the Chocolate cake! (this may be because of my unrequited love for chocolate). So I LOVE a GOOD chocolate cake, moist, chocolately, fudgy and almost ‘heavy’, to me there’s nothing more disappointing than the anticipation of a delicious, hot, moist cake straight out of the oven and its…. dry.

 Oh and the ganache! Don’t get me started on that, a good chocolate ganache I could drink like soup! (slightly weird, I know) but my point of this post is, practice makes perfect! If there’s something you LOVE then keep practicing it until it is out of this world! That goes for everything in and out of this wonderful bakers world!

Happy Valentines Chocolate Cake

Suggestion: Warm up a slice in the microwave on a low power and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream… heaven! Or eat cold from the fridge as a cake bar.

Peanut Butter and White Chocolate Layer Cake

Just a quick post! – Had to share the results of two new experiments I’ve been working on! First is my new (must say myself, rather delicious!) Peanut butter and white chocolate frosting! Not to peanut buttery, sweet or chocolately, definitely happy with the taste, was nibbling all the way through! …and secondly the layer cake! Just look at how great those layers look!

Beef Steak and Tenderstem Broccoli: A delicious and healthy meal in under 15 minutes

This little meal proves you do not need a lot of time or a whole load of kitchen experience to whip up a hot, delicious meal! Yes, I made this meal in under 15 minutes… but wait, it gets even better. Only. One. Pan. To. Wash. That’s right, unlike most of my kitchen creations, this is one of the best as its quick and no fuss, even the washing up afterwards is done in a matter of minutes!

Gorgeous, fresh tenderstem broccoli

Sliced garlic and two diced shallots. That’s all the ingredients needed to make this simple yet delicious meal

Ready in 15!

To make I simply stir-fried the beef steak in a hot pan until cooked (any substitute meat or even veggies can be used) then remove the beef from the pan and place in the broccoli to cook, with an additional splash of water

When the broccoli is half-cooked, stir in the garlic and onions until slightly softened and fragrant

Add 100mls of water and a generous heap (approx. 3tbsp) of oyster sauce

Allow the dish to bubble for 1 minute until the sauce becomes delicious, thick and glossy

Serve HOT and ENJOY!
